Was anybody else as peeved at the look on Cro's face after the loss in London? One would think the players would be in no mood for joking around. I've been a high school coach for years and never act like that after a tough loss. It's been said countless times but the losses seem to affect fans more than the players almost. Oh wait, it all makes sense - Cromartie got paid last off-season so he's happy now.
What an overrated player anyway. Cro got a ton of attention last year because of the amazingly high number of interceptions he tallied. Yeah, great...but that's not a accurate indicator of a defensive back's worth. Often times great DB's don't have a lot of picks because teams won't throw their way. So what's that tell you about Cromartie? He is a great athlete, true. But one solid year (and for that matter he was only a part-time starter) doesn't mean he's going to be solid from here on out. The way it goes now he's had more penalties called on him than any positive plays he's made this season.
And Eric Weddle seems just as worthless. A big contributor last year as a rookie, in 2008 it seems he's always out of place and getting burned. His foolish celebration that drew a penalty Sunday was the latest example of his blunders. And that was after a pass he should have intercepted, but did not.
