San Diego Padres Opening Week
April 7, 2008 -- San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants, 1:35 p.m. start PDT; Channel 4 San Diego will telecast. Yesterday was ASA Softball Day at Petco Park; the PGSL girls were there in force and got to walk on the field with coaches. They traveled the warning track and dirt perimeter; Trevor gave up the winning run late in the game and the Padres took the loss losing the series to the Dodgers. Big boys who get big dollars should hustle. Get hit by a pitch run down to first base with zest and gusto! At least hustle as an example for young athletes. No lolligagging base runners. Lets get it up a notch. Roll your ball cap bill and hit the ground running. Don't whine when things don't go your way. Search for character and be the best you can be and appreciate where you are. Not many entertainers can command such high salaries. Just be yourself, go play hard and hustle. Good things, like winning, will come your way. End of soapbox; oh and word on the street is that hard throwing Heath Bell should be moved to the closer spot and move Trevor into late innings set up. Move forward from there. Its best for the team. I'm out for now... Oh and btw one Dodger made it to the official lolligagger list over the weekend. I was at Petco Friday night and watched a very sluggish Dodger OF walk in and out. And his lavender shoes don't match the Dodger blue very well. Out. -Brett
